Sigma Kabuki Review + Giveaway by Handmade Review

Hi everyone! Today I will review the ever popular Sigma brushes!! After hearing about so many good things about Sigma, I finally got myself a few brushes in January. I've been using them since then, so it's about time I write a post about them.

Before I get started with the products, I would like to commend Sigma for its excellent customer service. The company was very helpful and responsive! I had a problem with my order, and Sigma was very thoughtful and pragmatic in getting the issue resolved promptly. A big kudos to them :D

So what did I get?

Sigma's kabuki brushes caught my eyes due to their unique shape, brush density, and the promise to create high definition, flawless finish. I got the F82 Round Kabuki and F84 Angled Kabuki as part of the duo kit, and the renowned F80 Flat Kabuki as an individual. I placed my orders on January 8 and got them on January 17. A little longer than the usual domestic shipping time, but about expected....

I used all three with my foundation/BB cream. And as described, the brushes really made my makeup go on more evenly, producing an airbrush, flawless finish.

When I am on the go, my favorite of them all is the F84. It makes the application of my BB cream fast and painless.

When I want more coverage and have some more time to spare, the F80 works wonders. With the same stippling and buffering motions, this brush builds up the coverage of your makeup without making you look cakey.

That is not to say that the F82 is inferior to those two though. I find that the F82 is a little smaller compared to the F80 and F84, and because of that, it is perfect to reach foundation/BB cream into the crevices of our nose and under our eyes.

Now that I've shared my input on Sigma brushes, I would like to share a giveaway opportunity with you guys. Handmade Review is giving out Sigma Beauty gift certificates in its March 2012 giveaway. Please check out the following link for more information on how to enter. (Please note that I'm not the one hosting the giveaway, so check back with Handmade Review for the result after the giveaway is closed).

I hope you guys enjoy this post!

Wishbox Giveaway by Yellowycream

Hey everyone!

I've discovered something neat today that will appeal to Korean cosmetics fans like myself: WISHBOX!!! It is basically a Birchbox for Korean products. For further info, please visit their website here.

Liah from Yellowycream, a Youtube channel I've been following, is reviewing the March Wishbox and hosting a giveaway for Wishbox subscription.

Check out her video below!

I really love her channel as I find that she really gives honest opinions on product reviews. Since I have to do a lot of my shopping online for Korean products, I find her reviews to be very reliable. Please do check out her other videos and subscribe!

Thank you guys for stopping by and have a wonderful Saturday~

Review: Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

My first product review will be over the famous and well-loved(?) Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream. I have this BB cream in no. 21 and bought it approximately 11 months ago from a US-based seller in eBay.

Before I jump in, I would like to let you know that I have oily skin throughout most of the year and combination-oily during harsh winter days. My skin has yellow undertones and is light medium (around NC 25 I would say, although I have never physically taken a MAC skin test before).

When I first got it last Spring, I used it pretty much every day as it was the first and only BB Cream I had. Having just converted from liquid foundation, I loved this BB Cream for its lightweight and natural dewy finish. I got it in the lighter shade (having heard that it oxidizes to a darker shade over time), and it was a tad too light for me even after oxidation. On top of that, it has SPF 42 which is great for sun protection but leaves a slight white cast on my face. However, using only a pea-size every time, the shade mismatch was not obvious.

Missha M Perfect Cover in No. 21

Creamy consistency

Fully blended out

This BB Cream provides medium coverage which is buildable to full coverage. It covers enlarged pores on my inner cheeks well and can double up as a concealer for light acne scars. It has a creamy texture and can be very easily applied with fingers without looking streaky or blotchy. Also, I would like to note that the BB Cream is heavily scented, so if you have sensitive skin, I would advise you to stay away from this.

In my opinion, there are two major cons about this product:

(1) Oil control - The oil control is not great although it claims to suit every skin type. Without primer, my face would look wet by noon, and in the summer, it took only one hour out in the heat to melt the BB Cream on my face.

(2) Removal - You would need a really good cleansing oil to remove the product. Regular make-up cleansers would leave residue of the BB Cream on the face and could cause breakouts. (I know because I'd been there...)

Having said that, I don't hate the BB Cream but I don't reach out for it every day either. I would say if you have normal or dry skin that is not sensitive, it might work out great for you.

Would I repurchase? Probably not...

Thanks for reading :D
